Company Profile:
RC Group is a Hong Kong biometrics company listed on the London Stock Exchange. RCG provides biometrics and RFID security solutions for access control, time and attendance, and resource management in a wide range of industry sectors such as telecommunications, transport, retail, healthcare, personal identification, and public sector markets.
Problem:
RCG had a website that did not accurately reflect their company's blue chip reputation, and was actually damaging their company. Their previous site had been assembled using Mambo CMS and looked like any other out-of-the-box website with no custom design and a confusing interface.
Solution:
We completely redesigned their site, and implemented a full-service content management system using
COSMOS. The website is now stylish and powerful, featuring many unique features such as a dynamic Flash home page, streaming videos, and a fancy Flip Book catalog. The site is also very well-structured for search engines,
with all content and navigation elements implemented using DHTML instead of
Javascript or Flash or other search engine incapatible technologies.
Following initial development, we also did a full-service SEO package, first optimizing the site with well-researched keywords, and then submitting the site to all relevant Search Engines and Directories. A full SEO report was produced for the client.
The Weboffice is a powerful implementation of COSMOS, including a WYSIWYG page editor, and many many unique features such as a News research tool powered by RSSpy, a WYSIWYG Catalog Editor using Flip-R, and a CRM mailing list tool powered by BatchMailer. All forms on the website also tie into the database, and are easily accessed from the Weboffice and exportable as Excel spreadsheets.
The website and the Weboffice was installed onto RCG's own servers, and has been running flawlessly since 2005. Their webserver was lacking a statistics package, so we also installed an open source solution and integrated it into the Weboffice.
