Client: Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), Canadian Chapter
Timeline: 2 weeks
Company Profile:
SATW is a non-profit organization for professional travel writers in American and Canada. Several of their members spoke highly of the Aruba.com site, and were referred to Interaxive Media (as the developer).
Problem:
Their website was strictly an information source for visitors and did not provide any value added services to their active membership base.
Solution:
We cloned a few of the applications that had been built for Aruba.com and customized them for use of their website. The website now serves their active membership base allowing Members to contribute articles, events, job opportunities, and update their own membership profiles and PDF portfolios. We also implemented a web auction program for them, which is run annually. All of these web applications, including a News Publishing System, Membership Directory, interactive Calendar of Events, Forum, and Auction, have been running for more than 4 years with absolutely no maintainence and are still in active use to this day.
